Statement
The main
subject of my work is humans behavior, attitude and feelings in a social
context. I imagine in my work limited conditions and situations. The social it is a complex
thematic that I want to explore. I’m interested in the way that people get
influenced by social and cultural environment.
The
language that I use in painting, drawing or video, most part of the time, is
not representing directly the idea or the object of interest that the work
speaks about. Sometimes I paint objects
that I feel that can represents an idea. The function of the represented object
makes allusion to human relation (ex. “the round table”), or to human attitude
(ex. “how must be a citizen”, “submission”).
I’m
interested in exploring different mediums and languages. The beginning of a
work is the idea that I want to explore, and after comes the materialization of
the idea. Depending of the complexity of the subject and depending on how
direct I want to express myself, I decide the medium that’s appropriated for the
project. Some subjects are more exposed in a video or in a photo, but an abstract painting or drawing it can be
more complex, offering different layers of meaning and interpretation.
